Translations not showing? Troubleshooting

The common reasons a translated page is not visible, and how to fix each one.

If a language is not appearing on your site, work through these in order. Most are a setting rather than a fault.

  1. Is the plugin active and connected?

Translations are only served by the Zinn® Translate plugin. Check it is active, that Site ID in Zinn Digital® → Translate matches the site's Translation tab, and that the API key pasted as Site token still exists and has the sites.view and sites.translation.manage permissions.

  2. Is the language published?

A translated language is not visible until it is switched on under Shown to visitors on the site's Translation tab and saved. The plugin picks the change up within the hour, or straight away when you open Zinn Digital® → Translate, which also shows the languages it is publishing now.

  3. Is the account in good standing?

If the Translation tab says Paused, translation is on hold while the account is. Everything already translated stays on your site and translation resumes on its own once the account is active again.

  4. Has the site outgrown its tier?

If the tab says Larger than your plan, new content is not translated until the site moves to a larger tier. Nothing already translated is lost.

  5. Is a cache serving an old page?

Clear your page cache after publishing a language. If the problem remains, press Diagnostics for support on the plugin's General tab: it shows you the exact report first and sends nothing until you press send.
