A Polylang alternative
Zinn® Translate and Polylang compared on price, automatic translation, WooCommerce and translated URL slugs.

The short answer
Polylang is a framework: you add each translation yourself, and translated slugs and DeepL need Pro. Zinn® Translate translates and maintains the whole site for you, slugs included, on every tier.
| Zinn® Translate | Polylang | |
|---|---|---|
| Price | $19, $59 or $199 a month, per site | Polylang free; Polylang Pro from €99 a year; Polylang for WooCommerce from €99 a year[1] |
| Languages | All 58 on every tier | Not stated on the pricing page[1] |
| Words included | Up to 50,000, 250,000 or 1,000,000 words, each counted once however many languages you publish | DeepL machine translation in Pro; none in the free plugin[1] |
| Translated URL slugs | On every tier, with the old address redirecting | Pro only — in the free plugin translations share one slug[1] |

Standard site $19 · Large or complex site $59 · Shop or enterprise site $199 — Per site, per month. Words are counted once in your site's own language, however many languages you publish.
How the pricing models differ
Polylang gives you the structure for a multilingual site; you write or import each translation, and Pro adds DeepL for machine translation inside the editor. Zinn® Translate translates the whole site for you and keeps it current as you edit.
Why site owners choose Zinn® Translate over Polylang
Translated URL slugs on every tier, not a paid upgrade.
WooCommerce products and attributes translated without a separate add-on licence.
Where it may suit you better
Polylang's free plugin is a solid base if you or your team will write every translation by hand, and it has a long track record on WordPress.org. If you want full control and do not need machine translation, it is a good fit.
Where Zinn® Translate fits
If you want the work done for you — every page, menu, SEO title and slug translated and kept up to date — Zinn® Translate does it automatically into all 58 languages, with WooCommerce included on the shop tier.
How to switch from Polylang in three steps
Connect your site and see its word count
Connect the WordPress site in your Zinn Digital® account. Before you pay, the Translation tab counts your site's words so you know which tier fits.
Choose your languages and let it translate
Pick the languages to publish — all 58 are included. Pages, menus, SEO titles, descriptions, slugs and image alt text are translated, with hreflang and a sitemap per language.
Check, then switch Polylang off
Review the translated pages and correct anything by hand. When you are happy, deactivate Polylang. If its language addresses were different, redirect the old ones to the new pages so search engines follow.
Questions about switching from Polylang
Do I need to pay per language like with Polylang?
No. Every tier includes all 58 languages. The price is set by how many words your site has, counted once in its own language — not by how many languages you publish.
Will my translated pages still be indexed after leaving Polylang?
Yes. Zinn® Translate publishes each language at its own address with translated slugs, hreflang tags and a sitemap per language. If Polylang used different addresses, redirect the old ones to the new pages.
Can I correct a translation by hand?
Yes. Any string can be corrected by hand, and your correction is kept when the rest of the page is re-translated after an edit.
